The South Dakota Rural Enterprise Advisory Board Strategic Planning Session at Cedar Shores on August 3, 2001, brought together South Dakota financial services professionals, Community Development Financial Institution officers and business leaders to discuss the future of rural economic development in our state. Beth Davis, South Dakota Rural Enterprise President, and Credit Officer David Eiesland set the stage for discussion with an overview of the development organization industry in South Dakota and South Dakota Rural Enterprise's role in supporting economic development through the development organiztions. The discussion sessions brought up several needs which South Dakota Rural Enterprise will seek to address in upcoming months. Among the concerns voiced were:
Grant Funds will need to be identified in order for South Dakota Rural Enterprise to continue to
focus and increase activity in these areas as most are non-revenue
