“Posting success stories on the SD Rural Enterprise web site seeks to build a culture of confidence in South Dakota by sharing the stories of individual communities and their successes in overcoming obstacles and meeting challenges,” said Beth Davis, president of SD Rural Enterprise. “Parker has been successful in developing housing, commercial enterprise and quality of life improvements that have truly made the city a better place to live and work.” Several communities submitted success stories for the organization’s initial competition, Davis said. All the stories were judged on originality, community impact, sustainability and strategic partnerships. All success stories can be posted to the South Dakota Rural Enterprise web site, www.sdrei.org, and all the submissions, including Parker’s winning story, can be read there. “Parker’s story is an inspiration to other towns,” Davis said. “By combining community volunteerism, a willingness to seek federal and other funding and a commitment to enhancing quality of life, Parker’s leaders and citizens have achieved great things. Our congratulations to everyone in Parker!” For more information about Community Success Stories or South Dakota Rural Enterprise, call 605-978-2804 or email . |
